Sim Video’s Red One Digital Dailies services incorporate the use of several tools, most notably SCRATCH CINE from Assimilate. SCRATCH CINE offers a unique ability to read RED’s R3D files natively without the need for rendering. This system allows for immediate viewing of RED footage and immediate real-time generation of tape or DVD outputs - no rendering is required.
SCRATCH CINE can also render out up to 2K or 4K files in DPX or TIFF format. The processing power of our redBOXX system allows for some of the fastest render times on a single computer to help ensure quick and reliable turn around times.
Color grading in SCRATCH CINE is also a real-time process. One light color grades and look-up tables (LUTs) can be applied and changed on the fly, all done without having to render a single frame. Whether you’re applying a LUT or grading with a Colorist, this real-time process ensures your footage maintains the look that you intended on set.
